About the Humane Society and Purrcasso
The BEBHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing homeless animals with committed caretakers; developing healthy relationships between pets and people through education, training and counseling; and promoting the humane treatment of all animals. Because we are not associated with any national organization and receive no government funding, we are 100% supported by tax-deductible contributions from individuals, companies and organizations. Please consider donating your artistic vision and creativity to this year’s event.
Our need for support is even greater this year. In the early hours of May 20, 2010, the BEHBS suffered a tragic fire which destroyed much of the building. Although we are able to continue many of our programs, including weekly adoptions and the provision of medical care, our shelter and hospital premises remain closed until further notice. Our efforts are directed to supporting a comprehensive rebuilding plan and to resuming full operations as soon as possible.
To give you an idea of how important Purrcasso is to the BEBHS, the funds raised, enables us to provide shelter, food and medical care to more than 10,000 animals through our programs and services. Our goal this year is to raise $15,000.
Your donation will be formally acknowledged by the BEBHS. You will be recognized on our website and bi-annual magazine distributed to over 12,000 Bay Area households. For more details about donations, timeline and the event itself, please see the attached page. You can also email us at Purrcasso@live.com.
